The Sailor's Grilled Pineapple

What is better on a hot summer day than pineapple and ice cream? This wonderful dessert will make everyone smile at your next BBQ!

Emily and I enjoyed this after a great grilled pork chop!

What do you need?
  • .5 c of Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum (the Captain will work but always wants to lead...)
  • .5 c of Worcestershire Sauce
  • .5 c of Honey
  • .5 c of Dark Brown Sugar (packed)
  • 1 stick of Butter or Margarine
  • 1 Pineapple
  • Vanilla Ice Cream (homemade hopefully!)

Directions:

Get out all your supplies and take a big drink from the Sailor!
Combine the Sailor Jerry, honey, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar and butter in a sauce pan. Bring to a boil and stir frequently.
Reduce heat and simmer for 12 minutes with frequent stirring. Remove from heat and let cool completely.
Slice your pineapple in to rings or wedges around 1 inch thick.
Baste your pineapple with the rum sauce and grill at medium high heat. Around 3 minutes a side until you achieve the color you desire. (Make sure you have lightly oiled your grill!)

Serve with homemade ice cream and drizzle with the Sailor's Rum Sauce and enjoy!

Any extra rum sauce can be refrigerated and used as a topping the next day!
